Faith for this Day

God,
Strengthen me with power so that Christ may dwell in my heart through FAITH.
May I know the deepness of Your Love, Lord...
And may I know that You are able to do immeasurably more than
I could ask or imagine in my life.

For You are the Lord, my God, who takes hold of my right hand
and says to me,
"Do not fear... I will help you."

Teach me to take up my shield of FAITH,
so that I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one when they come.
Give me FAITH to trust what You say...
that You are good... and what You do is good...
and Your love for me is great.

I may feel weak, but Your Spirit is strong in me.
My flesh may fail day after day...
But You are my God, and you never will.

Lord, with every step forward that I take in this life,
teach me to have faith... and to say, "I trust You."

Bits and Pieces....

Here are some bits and pieces of what's been going on in our days...

Heading to the pumpkin patch with our homeschool coop group and finding three cute pumpkins...

The mama's were invited to join a ballet class with their daughters...
it was so fun to dance with my girl.
 Catching them reading together...
 Doing Kindergarten... studying Dinosaurs.
 Doing 3rd grade.... studying cells.
 Finishing his soccer season well...
Hanging out with my camper friend, A... and having an October afternoon of
"All things Pumpkin..."
(Pumpkin pie, Pumpkin bars, roasting pumpkin seeds, carving pumpkins....)

Checking on him before I head to bed and find that he's stuffed his jammies with
his stuffed animals... and his big belly is sticking up in the air.
It must be what I look like when I sleep! :)
Smiling every time I see her face with these on...
They are a fun accessory to her Halloween costume,
but are being worn a lot because they are so fun and cute.
(but they make her look way too grown up!)
Happy days, busy days, hard days...
all bits and pieces from Him of what makes our days.

Apple Pie Goodness

Ainsley studied apples for kindergarten, so of course we needed to make something with apples!
She chose to make an apple pie, and she was kind enough to let her brothers help out a little.

Apples... one of the best parts of fall!

I love this picture... but why does she look so grown up????

(I ended up with pictures of all three kids sticking out their tongues
while working on making the pie... they take after their mama!)

Learning how to make a pretty pie!
She was so proud of what she made... and it tasted amazing!
I wonder what yummy subject we could study next week???

Our fall...

A few moments of our fall captured...
School Time
 Fishing for letters
Making room for one more... Putting in a window so Liam can move to the basement.
I gave her some salt dough and told her to make some fall art... I love her creativity!
Studying ancient Egypt and their writing.
Making Egyptian pastries... boy was this dough STICKY!
Back to dance class!  For this little ballerina only ballet this year... and she loves it!
What he does all day long... play with letters!
Pajama Day at our Homeschool Coop!  We had so much fun!
A twin princess playdate!
I love pictures with all three of them together... makes my heart smile!
He had to make an "All About Me" page for preschool.
The tongue helped him out tremendously while painting!
She called me outside to see the fall art she had created... a tree with random sticks, leaves, and even grass for roots.  I love her... I love fall!

Looking Back: A Weekend at Smith Falls

Reading with Grandpa
 Daily gifts from my children...
Sunflowers!
 The view from our cabin

Exploring!
 The cute cousins!
Smith Falls... for some reason a camera never can capture the true beauty of God's hand in nature.
 Chilly Toes in the river!

Braving the Niobrara River with Grandma
Tubing for the family (except for this mama and the three littles!)
A Note: Yes... Liam was with us!
I just spent most of the time in the cabin with the little boys and the one time I got out with my camera,
he was with the "big boys"! :)
But he had an amazing weekend too!!!

#4

Yes, we are having a fourth child.  But other than my growing stomach, and a few baby things I found at a consignment sale, you really wouldn't know it.  (or at least it doesn't feel like it yet.)

Is this really happening?

We are still looking for names (all the other kids had their names before they were even conceived) and we are far, far from being ready.  It is so different this time around because with having three other children, two who are doing school, and a busy schedule, our house hosts a different atmosphere and season of life than it did when even Kallan was born 3 1/2 years ago.

But this #4 is as precious and special as numbers 1, 2, and 3... and there is a different sweetness this time around that wasn't there with the others.  I have two children who are very aware and interested in what is going on (and the other one is just focused on growing the 4 girl babies in his own tummy).  :)  I get more hugs and kisses and pats on my belly than I ever did with all of the other three combined.  I'm way more laid back about everything concerning this little one... which is kind of nice.  (Expired car seat... yeah... we'll figure that out eventually!)  And if my body has anything to say about it... this will be the last little one to be born into this family... which in itself carries a preciousness all it's own.

So as we come to the end of this 2nd trimester... there are a few things I want to remember about these last few weeks.

To my Little One:

*I started feeling you kick at 15 weeks
*You started to give me really bad heartburn at 24 weeks
*We got to really see you for the first time at 21 weeks, and you were active, precious, and simply perfect.
*I feel really, really old.  Really old.
*I don't have huge cravings right now like I did with the others...  but I'm really enjoying muffins, cereal, fruit (especially apples), hot oatmeal, any anything I didn't have to cook!
*I've already gained 20 pounds... *sigh*
*You are most active in the evening
*My veins started being super painful around 14 weeks and have only gotten worse.  You, my precious child, have allowed me the joy of wearing compression hose for the last 10 weeks.  They are tight, they are hot, they itch, they fall down... but they make my legs feel so much better!
*The first trimester I didn't want chocolate at all *gasp!* BUT... that has all changed now... although maybe not as intense as my usual chocolate cravings are.
*I'm having a hard time drinking water (which isn't like me).  I'm thirsty, but nothing sounds good to drink.
*You feel way more heavy and hard to carry around than the others did.  By 7:00 at night, I'm exhausted.  My brain is still ready to go and do things... but my body is done.  After 7:00, I usually have to crawl up the stairs, sit or lay on the floor to get through bed time, lean on anything I can find, and use my hands to carry my belly around.
(How many weeks do I have left????  These are the moments that scare me!)
*All three kids think you are a girl.  I leaned towards girl at first, but then had strong boy feelings, and now I truly don't know!  I'm so glad that who YOU are is going to be a precious surprise at the end of this journey!!!  I can't wait to find out!
*I am ready to be done being pregnant... and just hold you in my arms.

Well, Little One, just one more trimester to go and you will be here!  To my brain, that seems impossible!  I'm praying that God continues to keep you safe, healthy, and growing like you should... and that He would continue to sustain me and prepare my heart to be your mama!

I love you!
Mama
