The Magic Kingdom

After this day at Disney, I decided that the Magic Kingdom is truly magical!

We started our morning with Mickey waffles at our hotel!  What better way to get the day started off on the right ear... or foot that is! 

 I had been told by a few people that many of the little girls go to Disney in their princess dresses, so I had brought a few for Ainsley to wear.  That morning she chose her favorite, Cinderella, and we did a little princess makeover before heading to the parks!  Before we left, it was fun to surprise her with some new sparkly, blue shoes that went well with her dress!  You could tell by the way she walked that she felt like a princess! 

 The fun started right away!  We didn't have a game plan, so in our first few minutes of wandering Main Street, we found ourselves caught in the middle of the morning parade (which didn't disappoint at all!)  The kids were so excited to see all the characters passing by, and it left us super excited and ready for more!

 Our first stop was to get a fast pass to meet some very important people (aka... Mickey and Minnie and "the Princesses")  While we were waiting, a men's quartet came in to announce, or sing, the opening of the Italian restaurant where we happened to be waiting.  When they saw they were in the presence of Princess Ainsley, they told us they must serenade her with a song!  Ainsley didn't quite know what to think at first, but by the end she was smiling!

 Our first meet and greet was with Mickey and Minnie Mouse.  We did some hugs and high fives and put on our big smiles for the camera.  Minnie even gave Ainsley a kiss on the cheek which she liked alot!

 Our next stop was to meet the princesses (which deserves a whole post of it's own!)  We ended up meeting Cinderella, Belle, and Aurora.  It was truly a magical experience for one little girl! 

 Now that we had those important people checked off our list, it was time to have some fun!  We headed to Fantasyland to find some rides!  We pretty much hit every ride in Fantasyland... It's a Small World, Peter Pan's Flight, Winnie the Pooh, and so on!  Of course we had to do the Dumbo ride... that's always a favorite!  We were so thankful that the lines were super short and we were able to manage our fast passes well.  It made for lots more fun and very little wait!

Next we headed to Frontierland which had a few more "big" rides.  We first went on Splash Mountain.  I remember Splash Mountain from when I was in Junior High, and I was a little nervous for the big 5 story drop at the end, but it was so fun and the kids loved it!  Liam had his hands up the whole time (who's crazy kid is this?!?) and I was just holding on to Ainsley for dear life thinking she was going to fly right out of that log!  She love it though!  Liam and Tim were in the front of our log and they got pretty wet!  Liam was very proud of his wet shorts and spiky hair!

We also went on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad which is a roller coaster.  I was afraid I would have to deal with Ainsley crying and screaming the whole time, but she again loved it!  On the second time we went, her hands were up in the air the whole time and my hands were down just trying to hold on to her because I was sure if I didn't she would just slip off.  Crazy Girl!

After that, we took a break from the rides and staked out our seats for the big afternoon parade.  If it looks crowded in the picture, it WAS!!!  But... it was FUN! 

Liam and Ainsley both loved seeing all the characters again!  Princesses and Toy Story, Donald Duck and Goofy, Aladdin and Peter Pan.  There was dancing and singing and music and every detail... perfect. 

 After the parade, we went on a few more rides and took in some shows.  They were all fun and the kids enjoyed them.  We also took part in what Tim ended up calling a few Disney "flash mobs"!  We would be walking along and all of a sudden the music would start playing and we would find ourselves in the middle of a hoedown or a jamboree!  It was just too fun! 

 Here we are kicking our legs up with the crew from Mary Poppins singing some of the favorite songs from that movie.  The kids were really having fun despite the confused looks on their faces! 

 Here are Liam and Ainsley with their dancing partners circling around and singing some tunes.  These are the little things that helped make the day extra special! 

 Other favorites of the day included taking a train ride around the park, going on the Jungle Cruise, and racking up our points on the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin! 

 As it started to get dark, we again staked out our spots for the nighttime Electrical Parade which was truly amazing!  That parade was filled with wonder and awe and left us with smiles on our faces!   

It was truly a magical day filled with so much joy and fun!  We couldn't have asked for a more special time together!  I don't think we were even out of the parking lot when I turned around and captured this...
